Judy A. Crowe is a native Texan who studied with Lindy
Daly of Houston since moving to Houston in 1988. She has studied via
workshops with these nationally know artists: Tom Browning, John
Michael Carter, Quang Ho, Gay Faulkenberry, Dan Gerhartz, Ann
Templeton, Marlin Linville, Kevin McPherson, Ted Goerschner, Charles
Sovek, Scott Burdick, Charles Movali, Matt Smith, and Scott
Christenson. Crowe’s subject matter includes figurative, still life,
and landscape. Her direct representational style is painted from life
either in the studio or plein air. Collections include Kwik
Copy Corporation as well as private collections nationwide. She
currently demonstrates oil painting technique and teaches workshops
throughout the state of Texas.
My goal as a representational fine artist is to create artwork
that portrays the beauty of our natural creation faithfully and
honestly to the best of my ability. I strive not for a photo realistic
duplication of the scene before me but to creatively and beautifully
depict life and light as I see it regardless of subject matter. Color
and form are tangible but elusive qualities in light. Learning to see
requires years of hard work and commitment to render these elements
honestly. My goal is to continue to strive for perfection in my work
and to grow as an artist. Becoming a true artist requires commitment
to continue the journey of what it means to be a representational fine
artist, a life-long endeavor.
