Nancy Bush is a native Texan, born in Austin and currently resides in Fredericksburg, Texas.

Her love of art came at a very young age as she admired the many paintings in her grandmother’s home. Most were painted by her great uncle, a venerable international artist. Occasionally he would allow her to watch him paint a commissioned portrait if the subject approved of her presence.

Her pursuit of art has taken her to many beautiful places in the world to study and paint a wide variety of subject matter. "Landscape is my love-it is ever changing and yet soothingly the same. Every landscape is a new challenge, spiritually and emotionally. There is so much to capture, but I find myself thinking "less is more". The simple elegance of trees shadowed in mist or rain gently falling into a meandering stream. Trying to capture the spirit and emotion of what is happening before my eyes is the greatest challenge. "I want the viewer to feel the physicality and emotional essence of the subject matter of the painting."

Her greatest influence in her art has come from the nineteenth and twentieth century painters George Inness, Isaak Levitan, Bruce Crane, and Russell Chatham.
